Held at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds in Gaithersburg, the new event featured over 200 "Eco Businesses" from around the region. In addition to vendors, the expo featured prominent speakers and informative workshops.

"We were excited to attend the inaugural Go Green America Expo, said Jason Feaga, principal of 18 Visions Design. It's great to see so many businesses and community leaders living and supporting the "green lifestyle." We made some great contacts and look forward to partnering with several of the businesses in attendance. It was a great event,you would never know it was the 1st year. smart magazineSmart Company's Best of the Web contest recognized the stellar web development and design efforts of local companies, nonprofit organizations and government entities. Readers cast their votes for their favorite sites in the categories of Business-to-Business, Business-to-Consumer, Nonprofit and Government, and their independent panel of judges - Kristin Kaineg, Mike Pfister and David Yogin, all accomplished graphic designers - reviewed each entry with the following criteria in mind: Ease of use, effectiveness of copy, use of animation/video and smart design.

www.18visionsdesign.com received the 1st Place prize of best "business-to-business" website of 2009. Judge Kaineg lauded 18 Visions Designs website for its clean and sleek design "with a strong brand and purpose," user-friendly navigation, cohesive content and easy-to-read typographic hierarchy.

The site was developed using technologies like CSS table-less layout, Woo Tools, Flash and PHP, says the company's princiipal owner, Jason Feaga. "The design theme is simplicity, but simplicity does not mean the look is not eye-catching. We opted for a clean Web 2.0 feel that was inspired by West Coast environmentally conscious companies," he says. "Visitors love its goldfish feature ... They are a large part of our 'what's your vision' marketing, so we felt they needed to be front and center...Websites have become more than a place to talk about your business.
